The type of irony that Alanis Morissette is referring to is situational irony. This is when the outcome of a situation is different or the opposite of what one might expect. For instance, one blog uses this real-life example to demonstrate situational irony: in 2022, the University of British Columbia had to reschedule its annual snowball fight...because there was too much snow. What this song describes is a long list of unfortunate coincidences. It arguably contains not a single example of irony, which may be the greatest irony at all.
